August has come and pass, flying by us quicker than a Peregrine Falcon. Today as we welcome September I thought I would share a quote from none other than JK Rowling, “the morning of the first of September was crisp and golden as an apple.” This is especially true in Eastern Utah as there is no denying summer is beginning to fade into autumn.
September always brings with it change, and over the next few weeks I already can anticipate some of those changes: Shelby, Lynden’s younger sister, is preparing to move out of our home; Earlier this week Lynden began a new job and with the school season beginning will see less of his nieces; and Lynden and I decided to make a change of our own (details below)!
Last month I had fun sharing a Summer Snapchat review. Based on comments from that post, I have decided to incorporate this into my blog once a month.
A local restaurant has implemented bi-weekly Sushi. During June I won a gift card to the establishment and decided to give it a try! Personally I loved the California Roll and the Volcano Roll, however I enjoyed trying each menu item.
I will always associate Summer 2017 with Cold Brew Coffee!
During the first part of August my mom, sister, baby girl, and I went to Grand Junction for peaches. The trip also included a lunch with some of my sister’s (and now mine too) friends from when she lived there. This drink was delicious and perfect for the extremely hot summer day!
As many of you are aware, August 2017 was an expensive month for us! The alternator in my vehicle went out, which you can read about here. Thankfully we have an awesome family. Lynden’s dad helped replace it and his sister lent us a car for the week.
My Uncle has the most beautiful rose bushes I have ever seen. As a young girl I enjoyed cutting them to create a lovely bouquet for my Yiayia and mom. Sigh, I wish I could have beautiful rose bushes too, maybe one day!
I have a new post brewing, I swear because I love cold brew coffee!
A millennial who loves Game of Thrones. I am a walking cliché. Admittedly this was not the best season of GOT, however I enjoyed having a Sunday night ritual with Lynden. Hopefully next season is slower, much like the wait between now and apparently 2019? Please tell me 2019 is a joke, that is too far away.
In a couple of weeks Shelby and this little gal will move away. I am so excited for Shelby’s next adventure but I will miss getting yelled at by Gracie Mae on a daily basis.
Apparently Shelby also thinks Duke needs to move with her. I will miss his sad Eeyore expressions.
This pup however is ready for the move. She has been packing Gracie Mae’s bags since last October. Or is it Duke’s bags? We never know as one day she is nice to one and mean to the other one. Oh the mindset of a Yorkie!
Hello white legs, I swear I went outside more than once! This was taken last Saturday. Lynden asked me to ride along with him while he golfed.
And hello new washer and dryer. You are only eating up a portion of my budget, but I need you. The last set completely destroyed the basement! I wish we had a beautiful Pinspired Laundry room. In the meantime I am beyond grateful for a working set that actually cleans our clothes!
Do you notice the school bus? Summer is basically over, although I will hold onto it as tightly as possible or until next weekend.
See, I did not lie, August has been a crazy month for us!
The month was expensive, thank goodness for savings and budgets!
Can you see it? It is a little clearer in this photo.
Yes, I am a nerd for sharing it this way. After 9 years and 9 months we are making it official. We have been discussing it for almost a year, and this past Saturday Lynden proposed.
